Settling for Sleeps

Following comments by the childcare professionals, Priscilla decided to settle Pascale for her morning nap in the bed at Por Por's house. After 15mins or so of crying and resistance while being patted in Tresillian style, Priscilla left the room and returned to pick up Pascale. She sipped water and calmed down but eyes were still open. Slowly they closed and after 2mins Priscilla decided to try and put her into bed. Mistake! Pascale opened her eyes and resumed screaming. Por Por went in and settled Pascale after Priscilla left to let her cry it out.

Second nap and Pascale was at home. She had a breast feed then lay down looking at Wowo. As she was not upset Priscilla left the room. Some babbling was heard for about 15 minutes, then quiet. Pascale had fallen asleep with all blankets off and face pressed up to Wowo on the soft mink blanket / headrest.

Night time and Pascale seemed to follow her usual pattern of breastfeed then cuddle and lying in bed to fall asleep by herself while Priscilla left the room. The night light is now kept on so Pascale can see Wowo. Anyway after about 30seconds the screaming started. Priscilla returned to pat, then picked her up to cuddle, but to no avail. Not too hot, didn't want water. Abandoned attempt after about 5 minutes. Chris kept trying to settle Pascale by patting her in bed for about 15 minuetes as Abi was being read to by Priscilla. Couldn't stand it and went in to rescue baby / hubby from torturing each other. Pascale was taken in her mother's arms and said something like Nai nai. When the big light was turned off the screaming started. She was then taken out to the kitchen where she was offered a banana and then yoghurt - both declined. So back into her room, saying good night to all the toys and stuff along the way. This time when Pascale was taken into her room she remained calm, letting Priscilla hold her in a sleeping position (no Wowo involved). After staring at something for a few seconds Pascale closed her eyes. Waited a bit more then she was gently put into bed where she rolled onto her left, then onto her right, then back again to left. No sound so Priscilla put a light wrap over her and left the room. Total episode about one hour.
