Emotional sensitivity

These past weeks have seen Pascale react emotionally to stories and events around her.

1. Books.
"little Beauty" about a kitten about to be separated from her gorilla friend who was upset about seeing king kong on tv: mouth downcast, worried look, repeated that the gorilla broke the tv and beauty can't be with him
"A mama for owen" about a baby hippo who loses his mother in a tsunami but finds a foster mother in a tortoise: worried expression, repeated that owen lost his mama, couldn't find her

2. Discipline
Upon doing something wrong and being told so, Pascale can burst into tears and cry hysterically and unconsolable manner, often running to sit on her bed maybe cuddling Wowo. (dog)

3. Strangers
Went to a cafe's courtyard, saw an autistic teenager who was making tuneless singing noises, Pascale buried her head in her mother's shoulder, then hid under the table, finally whispering to her mother that she wanted to leave cos she didn't like the man. We relocated to an inside table near the street view window and all was okay.
Has fear of stranger danger, has asked if there is stranger danger in the backyard, gets upset when parent follows through on threat to leave playground without kids who refuse to follow her instruction to go, gets upset when Chris and Abigail head off in the park and she is still in the stroller (left behind) "don't leave me!" Taught Pascale to call out "wait for me!" instead of crying.
