Separation time was a little better today. Pascale clung to her mother as usual but the carers had brought a basket of Duplo outside and Teacher Mel was showing the children a door that slides open and shut, and also small animals peeping out from the doorway. Pascale sat on her mother's lap and started to dig into the Duplo to repeat the door opening for herself. After a while she wandered off to grab one of the bikes, not quite managing to sit on it by herself and needing help. After a while she wandered over to a table with chairs around it. Pascale sat on one chair and told her mother to sit (chor). Sat for a while then went back to Duplo where the Separation occurred. Val clung on to Pascale who cried out no! no! complete with tears and Priscilla quickly took Abi over to the older children's playground but still within sight of Pascale.
After a while trying to interest Abi in a hula hoop Priscilla ended up playing with Aurora with Abi watching. The 2 girls started to play then Teacher Yuki signalled time for dancing! Aurora rushed off, Abi reluctant as she knows Separation will occur soon. Note Pascale was now seated at the table (back towards mum and the other playground) with a sheet of paper in front of her and soon to receive a drawing implement. No crying at all.
At pick up time, Pascale was seen sitting next to Teacher Val listening to a story and touching the book. After a while she saw her mother chatting to Teacher Vanessa and burst into tears while still seated. As she was scooped up by her mother, Pascale said nar nar (milk) and pointed to her mother's chest. During the breastfeed Pascale played high fives with her mother and kept an eye on the older children's playground. When she was taken in to that playground Pascale immediately went to play in the sandpit. A few of the pre-schoolers came to look at Pascale. Tommy said that your baby can't walk properly. Priscilla explained that it was probably due to Pascale wearing a nappy and she was still learning. Siem came up too and Pascale looked at her Charlie and Lola t-shirt while Abi got ready to leave.
