We have planted carrots in some pots in our garden for a while. They have grown leaves and we water them whenever we remember to. One day Priscilla decided to pick the biggest bunch of leaves to see what the carrot would be like. It was thumb-sized, curled around itself at the end, and shrivelled quickly after being pulled out (overnight).
One day Pascale was playing in the yard when she walked over to the carrot pots and pulled out 2 bunches. She looked curiously at the tiny fingernail sized carrots with soil and roots still hanging off them. She said that she wanted to eat them, so Priscilla asked her to go into the kitchen to clean them up.
Pascale got herself set up at the sink with some water. Priscilla organised a chopping board and knife. Pascale scrubbed each carrot with a brush before using her fingers to wipe the soil. Eventually she stopped being delicate and ripped off the leaves. Then she got a peeler and ever so carefully peeled the tiny carrots until all the skin was off. Repeat for the second carrot.
Pascale got a plate and put the carrots onto it. She climbed down from the sink stool, climbed up the kitchen bench stool, put her plate down and started to munch the remnant carrots. "Yum!" she said, with a sigh of completion and satisfaction.
