Gardening

Pascale walks past a vegetable garden every morning on her way to and from Kinta with her parents. She started to ask about having a vege garden in our yard. This spurred her parents to tidy the yard and move the pile of wood that had been sitting in the prime sunny spot for nearly 7 years.

The day of the move was very busy, with adults moving the wood planks and Kau Fu helping to move the heavy metal scaffolding. The children played with their sandpit, sometimes moving small offcuts of wood when they became available.

At the end of the day Pascale was asked if she was happy (that the garden was at last able to be started). She shook her head: she didn't get to help do anything. Parents tried to explain that she was a help, but there were lots of heavy things. Still pouty.
