Book reading

Until recently Pascale has like flipping through board books by herself, absorbing the pictures on her own. Then she was read "Hairy Maclary" stories with cat and dog sounds which captured her attention for the whole story. Then "Let's go visiting" was a favourite, esp at bedtime, for their pictures of farm animals. Pascale liked to point to certain scenes and make noises like cats, cow, dogs, and say po po (cuddle) when the puppies are being cuddled. She also likes to linger at favourite scenes or return to them.

Lately her attention span has increased again with the introduction of "Dorothy's Rosy Tea Party", a book with one of her favourite characters. She listened and looked intently during each read, and has been flipping to look at her favourite scene (Dorothy smells something burning: uh-oh!) when reading by herself. Pascale and Abi have to share this current flavour of the week esp at bed time. Abi will stay for a reading in Pascale's room, then take the book for another reading in her own room.
